Theme: The Loch Ness Monster

The Loch Ness Monster is large reptilian creature that is purported to live in Loch Ness in Scotland. There have been numerous sightings ever since the first photograph was published in 1934 by Robert Kenneth Wilson, plus claims of sightings earlier than that. Despite numerous scientific searches of the loch, no evidence of any creature has been found.

Films about the Loch Ness Monster have fared sporadically on the screen, beginning with The Secret of the Loch (1934), released only a month after Wilson’s photo. There have been various monster movies, as well as severa; comedies and rationalised films that revealed the monster to be fabricated.

In the 1990s and beyond, more sophisticated effects allowed better depictions of the monster and there have been a number of films on the subject the sit between either being monster movies or more commonly ones that regard it as an endangered species.

There have also been a number of oddities on the subject that explain the monster in terms of everything from robots and aliens.
