Theme: Liberal Politics

Liberal Politics concerns left wing politics and its depiction in fantastic cinema. This comes at contrast to right wing or conservative politics, which are discussed under their own entry Conservative Politics.

Liberal/leftist politics embraces a spectrum of ideas that include the more equitable distribution of wealth throughout society, environmentalism, pacifism and nuclear disarmament, feminism and women’s rights, so-called identity politics (the greater participation of ethnic and sexual minority groups in society and dismantling of traditional barriers that have excluded them), and a generally more inclusive society.
